Marblehead Chamber Professionals Group Event To Have Spy Theme |
 The next event of the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce Professionals Group will be held Tuesday, May 24, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Lafayette Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility, 25 Lafayette St., Marblehead.
This event is being sponsored by the Lafayette Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility and is free for Marblehead Chamber members. Non-member price is $10.
Space is limited to the first 100 respondents. The group will have a wait-list and requests that it be notified of any cancellations, so that it can accommodate as many people as possible.

The group said it received tremendous feedback on its previous sessions, which focused on the importance of self-awareness and Emotional Intelligence, resulting in stronger relationship building while networking.
Now, the group is excited to welcome attendees to its fourth session, sponsored by Lafayette Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility and facilitated by Kevin Prentice, The Ant & the Grasshopper. The group promises the session will be interactive, interesting and FUN!
New Marblehead Chamber of Commerce member the Ant & the Grasshopper is a corporate team-building company based in Manchester, Mass. The Ant & the Grasshopper designs, tests and develops innovative, new approaches to team building. All of its programs are experiential, fun and use play to promote soft-skill development and build cohesive teams. After 22 years, the Ant & the Grasshopper have over 100 unique programs.
Facilitator Kevin Prentice is the founder and artistic director of the Ant & the Grasshopper. He has worked as a team-building events creator and facilitator since 1988, and as a writer, director, actor and comedian since 1981. Prior to entering the field of team building, he worked as a foreign-service clerk for the Canadian federal government. The Professionals Group said it is excited to welcome him as the facilitator of this event.
The evening's program will be “Spy School”: “Welcome to Spy School. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to save the world! You may be shaken but not stirred and you will have a license to have fun. So put on your shoe phone and come join us for a most unique and covert approach to team building.”
According to the Ant & the Grasshopper, this team-building program with an espionage theme is an innovative approach to developing creative problem solving, improving cooperation and communication, and boosting morale. It is a competitive game of espionage where everyone gets to play James Bond or Mata Hari. Participants work in teams of spies on a mission to save the world. Every spy exercise on the mission requires a different skill, and every exercise teaches participants something new about themselves and each other, according to the company.
It has been facilitated for companies in Europe, Australia, Canada, and from coast to coast throughout the U.S. including Liberty Mutual, which has made Spy School a part of its leadership training program for the past 10 years. Spy School has also been facilitated for the U.S. military and several U.S. Intelligence agencies.
“We'd tell you which ones but we'd have to kill you,” Prentice joked.
The event will allow the Lafayette to showcase its outdoor Garden Patio, which it says residents and families enjoy on a daily basis. Fellow Chamber member Mark O'Connor and the Marblehead Garden Center have graciously donated some large outdoor planters to the Lafayette.
The Chamber Professionals Group was formed to provide its current and prospective members with additional networking opportunities, which differ from the Chamber's traditional Business After Hours networking events, offering networking tools and activities structured by a professional facilitator. Events are open to all Chamber members and guests with a particular focus on benefiting unique home-based businesses and professional-service industries such as real estate, office administration/equipment, printing/design, promotional materials, concierge, marketing and public relations, insurance, legal, financial, creative, specialty services and more.
Attendees and all Chamber members will have access to the Chamber Professionals blog at marbleheadchamber.org to stay connected at their convenience. All attendees will receive a list of all attendees at the event they attend, including contact and business names and email addresses, to further encourage the connections they have made and enhance future networking.
