Laughter is brightest in the place where the food is.
We are focusing on our Dietary Department in this edition as we all share the importance of food in our daily lives. We appreciate the significance of diet in promoting mood, energy and optimal health.
The dining experience at The Lafayette begins in our kitchen with a team of staff members who have a combined 156 years of Food Service experience. The Dietary Department at The Lafayette strives to give our residents the best dining experience by providing nutritious, flavorful and appealing meals that allow for food preferences, dietary restictions and limitations/allergies. The menu is approved by our Registered Dietitian and prepared by professionals who strive to prepare meals that meet or exceed everyone's expectations.
We are dedicated to serving well-prepared, good-tasting foods and take great pride in all our work to see that the residents are satisfied and enjoy the meals served to them.

Food Service Director
In the science and art of food preparation at a facility like ours, meals are prepared to stimulate appetite and incorporate food preferences which include regional favorites and input from residents provided in a diners forum through our Residents Council. The meals are home style, presented with a focus on health and satisfaction to deliver the end goal of a pleasurable dining experience.
"We are dedicated to serving well-prepared, good-tasting foods and take great pride in all our work to see that the residents are satisfied and enjoy the meals served to them," said Blaise Creane, Food Service Director. Blaise heads a kitchen staff with a total combined number of service years at The Lafayette that exceeds 109! Food Service Director Creane himself this year celebrates his 16th year at The Lafayette.
The Dietary Department places special emphasis on meals served on special occasions and holidays, presenting themed meal events for our residents. "Our cook-outs are especially popular with residents," Creane explained, "because it's a chance to experience and enjoy not only time spent outside on our patio but fresh barbecue, hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, potato salad and wide variety of complementary dishes that are made from scratch right here in our kitchen."
Holidays and special themed events in years past have grown to become a favorite of both our residents and members of their families, welcome guests who've been able to enjoy sharing a holiday meal with a loved one at The Lafayette. "It's just one of the many things we do that elevate the daily ritual of eating to a rewarding and happy experience for a lot of people," Creane said.
We look forward to bringing back our special brunches, holiday events and milestone celebrations in the very near future. The Dietary Department continues in its dedication to providing value in the dining experience and food service that enhances the quality of life, meets dietary needs and provides well being to our residents here at The Lafayette.
